Plea 1st Edition

So many times I wish I could pick up the phone

To hear your voice on the other end

You tell me that I’m not alone

And in You I have a true friend

Help me pass this test,

Tell me what to do now

Show me the path and guide my steps

Tell me when; guide me where; show me how

Do you see how these predators prowl;

Attempts to discourage with their senseless growl

Pray for this prey; for they’re way I won’t allow

See my plea manifest through my vow

Elders say someway

Mothers say somehow

I want the seeds I sow to be laid

In the ground You plow

Not too long ago

when my winds were set too wild

When my love for life was living low

And accepting this world’s style

I’ll never forget when I heard your voice

Right in the middle of my sinful acts

You told me to dispose of those

And whispered “child come back”.

Those words thundered and shook my soul

They rumbled and rang in my ears

And I unsure of how the tale would unfold

I paused out of habitual fear

“ALL MINDS CLEAR” is what you said

before telling me what to do

“PUT DOWN YOUR BAGS” and “COME TO ME”

and “I WILL GUIDE YOU THROUGH”

And so it was I surrendered the love

And offered my sacrifice

And began the walk of My Father above

Anticipation of new life

Peaceful Journey

Knowledge of self

Surety of love

Spiritual wealth

I cannot turn back now

I’ve come too far

The enemy whispers stop

“stay the way you are”

but no longer is it I

that rushed to get high

no longer is it me

to ignore divinity

a warrior now

a soldier in His army

death doesn’t scare me

life barely scarred me

but never like the scars

that my savior did bare

I’ve never felt his pain

Never cared if lives were spared

Not until He charged me

Convicted me and cleansed me

Now tis He that holds me

Molds me and defends me

Show the way and send me

Father guide me through this maze

Shed your light intensely

I want to see those better days

I want to shine as bright

As the moon on a dark night

I want to glisten in gloom

And represent the name Christ

It gets so hard at times

When you reach so high

When you know there’s a heaven

That exceeds the mind and sky

When you hear God tell you

That there’s nothing He’ll deny

With obedience and faith

He grants wings to fly

Now let me tell you about the enemy

Who cheats, kills and lies

He uses people to pin me

I can feel the hate in their eyes

And the trick is sometimes

Its somebody I love

and they love me as well

They’re just unaware of being used

To make my world a hell

To make me think that Gods not listening

And doesn’t hear my prayer

To make me feel hopeless

And feel that He’s not there,

(or don’t care)

But I can’t turn back now
